Gulfport Stories: Dawn Fisher

  • Gulfport History Museum

Dawn Fisher served on Gulfport's City Council from 2001-2005. She helped to oversee Gulfport's transformation into a welcoming community for LGBTQ folks, and a haven for the arts. She can name every business that has come and gone on Beach Boulevard. And you'll see her nearly every day with her famous "pick stick," keeping the streets free of litter. She's a wealth of knowledge about our beloved town...and she's going to share it with us at our January porch party!

Councillor Fisher will share her Gulfport stories in an interview with Gulfport Historical Society's president, Cathy Salustri. The interview will be recorded for our oral history collection.

Come hear Gulfport stories, meet your neighbors, and learn about what makes Gulfport such a special place.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; at 7 p.m., Dawn and Cathy will begin the interview.

There is no cost for this event. Dogs and well-behaved children welcome. Gulfport Historical Society members have access to our Square Mullet clubhouse; others welcome to BYOB. Please feel free to bring snacks to share, but that's not necessary to enjoy the porch party!
