Help make — and preserve — history by volunteering with the Gulfport Historical Society. Volunteers are currently needed to act as hosts during two-hour shifts at the Gulfport History Museum.
You don’t need to know a lot about Gulfport’s history to volunteer; you just need to enjoy meeting and talking to people. Society members will train volunteers in a fun, friendly, learn-as-you-go atmosphere. Dog lovers can bring their canine pals with them when staffing the museum.
For more information, plan to attend their volunteer open house, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 10am-1pm at the museum located at 5301 28th Ave. S. in Gulfport. They’ll provide lunch, soft drinks and water.
