Yvonne Johnson served as Gulfport's first woman mayor, has traced her family tree back to 1066 A.D., and... well, there's lots we can say about Mayor Johnson. But rather than us tell you, come to our January porch party to hear Mayor Johnson tell you about her life, Gulfport, and her life in Gulfport — in her own words.

Art Levy, author of Made in Florida and associate editor of Florida Trend, will interview the mayor.

Come hear Gulfport stories, meet your neighbors, and learn about what makes Gulfport such a special place.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; at 7 p.m., Art Levy and Yvonne Johnson will begin speaking.

This porch party is part of the Gulfport Historical Society's oral history project.

Dogs and well-behaved children welcome. Gulfport Historical Society members have access to our Square Mullet clubhouse; others welcome to BYOB. Please feel free to bring snacks to share, but that's not necessary to enjoy the porch party!
